How Donations are Managed
Every gift is deeply appreciated and will help to make a difference at our beautiful Glendale Temple. We thank you for your continuing support.
Donations we receive in response to this appeal will be deposited into the Glendale Temple Building Fund at the Mother Center. They will be used to support these efforts, and they may also be used to cover large maintenance expenses associated with the temple’s buildings and future meeting facilities, grounds, equipment, furniture, vehicles, fundraising expenses, property taxes, and any potential future property purchases—which are not typically funded through our operating budget.
While it is Self-Realization Fellowship’s intent to use all designated gifts as outlined above, SRF reserves the right for the use of all gifts to SRF to be determined by the Board of Directors of Self-Realization Fellowship. In exceptional circumstances where the designated purposes are no longer feasible or have already been completed, or for other good cause, the SRF Board may redirect such gifts to other appropriate ministries or projects, including any project that comes closest to the basic original purpose of the designation.
All donations that are not designated to the Building Fund will be used to meet the general operating expenses of Self-Realization Fellowship.
Recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, Self-Realization Fellowship is a public charity under federal law and a nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation under the Revenue Taxation Code of the State of California. Accordingly, contributions to Self-Realization Fellowship are deductible to the maximum extent permitted by law for income tax purposes. Donations can be made through outright gifts in the form of cash, check, credit card, appreciated securities, real or personal property, and other types of assets, and deferred gifts in the form of charitable trusts. Bequests eligible for a charitable estate tax deduction can be made by naming the organization as a beneficiary in, among other things, a will, a trust, an insurance policy, or retirement funds.
